Thanks for pointing out that a thickness test should be conducted to make sure that my floor can be refinished properly. Owning a car for almost a decade now has worn down my living room floor with all sorts of scratches. You must start by applying a penetrating sealer, once the seal has dried you must buff the floor using a No. 2 (fine) steel wool. Afterwards vacuum and wipe the floor using a tack cloth, make sure to remove all the dust between the finish coat. Next apply the first 2 coats of finish wax, and follow the directions of the finish container with respect to the drying time between coats, lastly apply the final coat and wait for 24 hours at least for the coat to dry. However, hardwood floor refinishing is quite a complex process, therefore it would be best to hire a professional hardwood flooring expert as they possess all the experience and tools to perform the job for
