STA- BIL Fogging Oil is an aerosol propelled oil treatment to protect internal engine components during storage. This fogging oil can be sprayed to coat internal engine components and prevent corrosion. Formulated to displace moisture from metal to protect engine, this product also lubricates the cylinder’s walls, pistons and rings to prevent damage (scuffing) during start-up after prolonged engine storage. It is used in all two and four cycle gasoline engines. The STA-BIL Fogging Oil comes in a convenient 12 ounce aerosol can with nozzle straw to direct oil in tight passages or through spark plug holes in head and cylinder.

Usage Directions:

Start engine and remove air filter.
Spray fogging oil into air intakes of running engine.
Shut engine off after 10 seconds.
Remove spark plugs.
Attach extension tube and spray fogging oil into each cylinder for 3 seconds.
Replace spark plugs.

I have a couple of classic autos that get ornery after I have left them sitting during the winter. This year they started up just like I had left them overnight. Is relatively easy to use at least on a carburetor...not sure about fuel injected cars

Not matter how long they engines sit idle, I never have to worry about condensation or rust forming. I use with STA-BIL fuel treatment and now I never worry about sorting my engines for a few months to a few years! Perfect combination if you ask me :-)

While I can't actually claim results without a tear down, the fogging action should provide way better surface coating than squirting oil in the cylinders.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JJOHNSON from Engine Storage Solution I know engines can corrode when sitting for long periods. I have squirted oil in spark plug holes, but how dispersed is it? With this spray, you spray it in the intake for 10 seconds with the engine running, then turn it off. Then remove the plugs and use the spray tube to squirt the inside of the combustion chamber. Voila, you have a well lubricated top of your engine, ready for storage. There are other (maybe cheaper) ways to do this, but I don't know of any that are easier.

I trust Gold Eagle products as being top notch and suspect this fogging oil will also be. I followed the directions on my 4 cycle yard tools I put away for the winter. I expect eay start ups next spring.

Whatever other problems might develop when they're not being used, at least I can be sure sticky rings and valves won't be among them.

If i use fogging oil to fog motorcycle gas tank, do i need to clean it out in spring when I’m ready to ride? Or do i just fill up gas tank?

Hi. It is not recommended to fog the gas tank itself. This product should be used only in the combustion chamber by spraying into the spark plug holes. If you are looking to protect your fuel tank, we recommend checking our STA-BIL 360˚® Protection. Hope that helps!

I was told by a marine service dept that the sparkplugs are replaced after fogging the engine. Why would that be needed?

I assume that fuel injectors won't have any issue with using fogging oil, right? How about catalytic converters? (I understand my motorcycle has some catalyst in the exhaust and I wouldn't want it to have problem from the burned fogging oil.)
